Initiated into playing the sitar at a very young age by his paternal uncle the late Arun Kumar Bosu Mullick,he next trained for long years under the tutelage of Bidushi Kalyani Roy,an immaculate artiste in her own right and a disciple of the legendary sitar player Ustad Vilayat Khan Sahab. Sri Bosu Mullick was immensely fortunate in having the proud privilege of training under Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan Sahab a world-renowned sitar maestro and an eminent expotent of the Etawah gharana.It was with the guru’s blessings that Sri Bosu Mullick came to identify with the spirit of music,the instrument and the gharana .
